Moxie Fab Shimmer Spray Challenge

Moxie Fab World has a fun challenge going on now for stamping. One of the challenges is to use shimmer sprays with your stamps (you can see the challenge page here). I only have a few, well three, shimmer sprays, but I love them! I decided to try and paint the spray onto the stamp, and then stamp with it. Here is the card I came up with.

All stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. I used Peacock Chalkboard Glimmer Mist on the clouds and Chocolate Covered Cherries Glimmer Mist on the tree. Behind the large tree and the sentiment are several small trees stamped in Versamark Dazzle Frost and Champagne (they don't show well in the picture, but if you click on it for a bigger image you can see them better).

Overall I like the card, though I wish the clouds were closer together and I'm a little irritated the sentiment is crooked. Still, I know the friend I made this for won't care.

This Week's Project

As I was looking at some submissions for the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World this week, one of the girls had also chosen to do her card for the Make It Monday challenge for Papertrey Ink. I loved the concept, and decided to give it a try. I made a card for my husband for Monday. I'm mostly happy with the outcome, but I think I would have like the words a little closer together.

Love Card
I don't own any Papertrey Ink items, so I used what I had.
The background is Unity Stamp Co. So & So Loves stamped with VersaMark Dazzle ink in Champagne.
The words and tree are from Unity Stamp Co. kits: Lovely Bits & Baubles (tree, love, meant to be, you and me), Tree-mendous Love (love), Lollipop Tree You & Me (you and me), and Folk Inspired (all my love).
The black rhinestones are zvacreative.com.
The striped sticker is Reminisce.

Valentine's Day

Today we are making Valentine's day cards for Daddy (and maybe some other people). As I was looking online for some cute ideas, I came across this website: http://www.4kraftykidz.com/elephantvalentinemailbox.html. As soon as H saw it, he wanted to make it. We don't need a box, but we adapted it to a card. Here are some pictures of the fun. I planned on putting the tail on the back of the card, but H decided he wanted to draw one on the back instead. I think it turned out adorably.

Weekly Project

I had said I wanted to create a weekly project, that was a goal I thought I could achieve. I still think I can, and I'm glad to say that I did complete one last week (pictures to follow later).

Our JoAnn's is going out of business (very sad), but there are some awesome deals on everything, especially fabric and patterns. I've been thinking of making some gifts for friends who are pregnant, and now seemed like the perfect time to do that. Friday I cut out some flannel to make a burp rag for my newest nephew (born on Thursday). Saturday I got to work and it came together so easily and quickly (ideas from my head rarely work out so well). I am pleased at how easy they are, and I like them so much I've even thought about trying to sell them. We'll see how far I get on that. Right now I'm just happy to be getting some presents made instead of trying to find time to go to the store and buy them.
